Summer Sizzle Prize Winners Announced

Congratulations to Irene Jersak from Killarney on winning CJRB's Summer Sizzle Contest!

Residents of Killarney for over 45 years, Irene and Lloyd Jersak are faithful listeners to CJRB and were very surprised when Irene's name was pulled by Home Hardware staff member, Brooklyn Toews.

As winners of the Summer Sizzle Prize Package, the Jersak's won a new barbecue at Killarney's Home Hardware valued at $500, as well as a $100 gift card from Killarney Meats.

Irene says they have never had a beautiful new barbecue like this one, and she was thrilled to hear the good news.

"I had turned the radio on but hadn't heard the announcement yet, and then the phone rang," explained Irene. "I was so surprised when I heard that happy voice on the phone who was so pleased that I had won. Apparently many people had heard it on the radio before me."

"CJRB is my favorite station," she said, "because in the morning I wake up to it and hear cheerful voices and they're always so good with their programs. We're so thankful for their amazing programs."

"We've had Home Hardware ever since we came to Killarney and all the staff have been so helpful and always cheerful, and it's always a pleasure to come here. We really want to thank both Home Hardware and Killarney Meats," she said.

"We are also very thankful to CJRB," added Lloyd, "that they do this kind of a promotion and bless people. It's a major thing!"

Killarney Home Hardware staff delivered the new barbecue to the Jersak home on Monday morning where it was wheeled straight to the back deck overlooking Killarney Lake.
