The Helping Hooves 2015 ride has gotten underway across Southern Manitoba.

The horseback ride which raises funds for Helping Hands with Manitobans with Breast Cancer will run until August 30th.

"We started in 2012," shared Founder Pam Glover.  "The reason we started was because there is nobody really in Manitoba that is fundraising for people.  The group we fundraise for, Helping Hands with Manitobans with Breast Cancer, they are the only ones in Manitoba that actually do that kind of thing and we are the only ones fundraising for them."

Meanwhile, Glover explained why she got involved in the program.

"I wanted to fundraise after I lost my step daughter to breast cancer in 2009," she said.  "She was a big one for going out for all the walks and all the fundraising things.  I just basically wanted to carry it on in her name.  After I found out how many people in Manitoba actually need help, they became my inspiration."

Glover noted they've already made stops in Carberry, Spruce Woods park and Glenboro.  The rides will conclude with visits to Sandilands, Marchand, Richer and Morris next week.
