The Turtle Mountain Agriculture Society in Boissevain is looking at possibly erecting a new building to house animals.

President Chris Walker stated the current facilities are needing an upgrade.

"We know our buildings are getting older," said Walker. "There has been some complaints that they look like eye sores and with some of the older cattle sheds you are going to hit your head walking in and out of them. We have a committee that's looking into future needs, what we think we might need around there. Hopefully we can come up with something that can be useful by both and carry on in the future."

Walker noted nothing is set in stone; however, it would be nice to combine the current cattle sheds into one big building making the livestock operation more feasible.

He added this process could take a couple years including fundraising and putting together a plan.

Meanwhile, Walker explained a newer building would allow for a newer washing rack.

"I know we have a wash rack for the cattle and the horses too that has been patched up and used over the last few years. If we get into some higher numbers or higher class cattle shows they would really prefer a better wash rack and that's something we can incorporate into the other building as well."

Walker said they don't know how many buildings are being taken down yet, but they need to be able to give the heavy horses the room they need.
