Residents of Western Manitoba hope to bounce back following a long weekend of rain, strong winds, snow and frost.

Manitoba's weather is expected to return to normal this week.


Manitoba Hydro says outages occurred all the way from north of Brandon, through the Interlake and Winnipeg, and all the way to eastern Manitoba.

As conditions worsened Sunday, R-C-M-P warned drivers to stay off the highways unless it was absolutely necessary, and some provincial highways in southwest Manitoba were closed.

As for the rainfall reports of up to close to 90 millimeters were reported in some parts of western Manitoba.

This week's forecast is a return to sunshine with day time highs in the low 20's starting Wednesday.
