The Winnipeg Jets Stanley Cup playoff run is over. Mikko Rantanen scored twice in the third period as the Colorado Avalanche defeated Winnipeg 6-3 and took the best-of-seven opening round series in five games. Kyle Connor, Josh Morrissey and Tyler Toffoli did the goal scoring for the Jets. Toffoli's second goal of the playoffs 2:06 into the third period tied the game at 3-3. Rantanen then put the 2022 champions ahead for good scoring back-to-back goals at 4:11 and 8:01 of the final frame. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 27 shots in net for Winnipeg while Colorado's Alexandar Georgiev made 34 saves.

Canada will face Latvia in the quarterfinals of the 2024 World U18 Hockey Championship in Vantaa, Finland. Gavin McKenna had two goals and four assists as Canada downed Kazakhstan 11-3 and finished first in Group B with a perfect 4-0-0-0 record.

New York will select first overall in the 2024 PWHL Draft in June, earning the top pick following a 4-3 victory over Ottawa at the Prudential Center on Tuesday. Ella Shelton led New York’s offense with a goal and two assists. Elm Creek's Corinne Schroeder made 33 saves to record her seventh victory of the season. Deloraine's Ashton Bell had an assist for Ottawa who entered the game with the opportunity to clinch a playoff spot with a regulation victory. Now, should Boston produce any points in their game with Montreal on Saturday, Ottawa will need to match that total in their game against Toronto on Sunday in order to secure a berth. New York needed just one point to ensure they would finish the season with the most ‘Draft Order Points’ following their elimination from playoff contention.
