Manitoba's Cattle Marketing report shows feeder steer prices ranged from an average of $327.68 per cwt for the 401-500 pound category to $226.88 per cwt for the 901+ category. The biggest increase was $9.38 for the 601-700 pound weight category for an average of $297.50 per cwt. Feeder heifers ranged from $273.96 per cwt on average for the 401-500 pound weight category to $198.50 per cwt for the 901+ category.  The biggest increase in the feeder heifer market was $11.38 for the 901+ category for an average price of $198.50 per cwt.  D1-D2 cows increased $3.43 to average at $118.79 per cwt, while D3's were up $14.85 for an average of $112.85 per cwt.

Saskatchewan feeder steer prices ranged from $354.83 per cwt for the 300-400 pound weight category to $237.80 per cwt for the 900+ category. Heifer prices ranged from $314.63 per cwt for the 300-400 pound weight category to $228.44 for the 800+ pound category.

In Alberta, D2 slaughter cows increased by $5.78 per cwt for an average of $132.08 per cwt. The price of D3 slaughter cows was up $6.10 per cwt to an average of $113.30 per cwt. The Canfax price for Alberta fed steers reported on March 17 was $207.90 per cwt, up $4.00 per cwt compared to the last report of $203.90 per cwt on March 10.
