The Executive Director of the Association of Manitoba Municipalities says the most recent fiscal year was a good one for the AMM.  According to Joe Masi, September, 2009 to August 31, 2010 was good for the AMM's business projects.

On the policy side of things, Masi says some success came with changes to the sewage ejector issue. In that case a complete ban was implemented on sewage ejectors, but the AMM lobbied to see existing ejectors grandfathered in.

Masi says infrastructure deficits and alternate revenues will continue to be a core challenge for the AMM. In 2011, he says the AMM will be doing its best to ensure municipal issues are front and centre during October's provincial election.
