Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Westman are inviting residents who have care and compassion for our young people to join their Board of Directors.

Executive Director, Tracy Williams says they currently have 4 openings around the table and are hoping to once again have a full complement to lead their team.

Williams says the commitment is one meeting each month with a bit more time and input needed in the month of October to assist in their main fundraiser.

"If someone doesn't have the time to commit to becoming a mentor, and they want to be involved in the organization, maybe they would like to become a board member," she says. "It's a governance board, so it would involve the overall operation of the organization and the finances, supporting myself as Executive Director in things like reviewing financials with me, or helping me to reach out to corporate sponsors."

Williams says having members on the board with different skill sets is important, making for a well-rounded, well-informed leadership team.

"If it be finances, or marketing, we look at Board members with different skills," she adds. "We are a national non-profit charitable organization and so we run under a national group, so if people are interested in helping us with our mission and our vision, we welcome them to contact us to learn more."

Currently, the Board has six members, and they're allowed to have as many as ten.
