BMO and the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba will be honoring 6 farming families in the province during this year's Royal Manitoba Winter Fair.

Nominations are still open to name that farming family in your area who deserves to be applauded for their commitment to agriculture and the Ag community! 

Agriculture represents one of the largest portfolios of the Bank of Montreal, and it has remained committed to providing the best agriculture products in the market to its customers, while providing a wealth of knowledge and experience to help grow and sustain the industry.

For over 20 years, the Bank of Montreal has honoured farming families in Southern Alberta, representing one of the largest portfolios of BMO.  Honoring farming families who take an innovative approach to growing their business, demonstrate a commitment to traditional western values and maintain an exceptional standard of sustainability has spread into neighboring provinces. Twelve years ago, the program expanded to celebrate families in the Southwestern Ontario area. 

Now in its fourth year in Manitoba, BMO and the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba will honour six farm families in the province during the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, which runs March 27 to April 1, 2023 at the Keystone Centre.

Nominations deadline is at the end of this month, January 30th, 2023

And you can also nominate yourself, notes Provincial Ex General Manager, Mark Humphries.  "Anyone can nominate a farm family that contributes to the local community, and obviously to the farming industry as a whole.  It's well-known for supporting the agricultural community, especially in Westman.  We really appreciate the fact that BMO is coming to Westman to do this."

"We will honor up to 6 farming families in the area who can be nominated, so there's plenty of scope for all the different aspects of farming, whether that be grain, cattle, mixed, we've got all sorts of availability there," adds Humphries. "The deadline is coming up very quick so please go to our website, stop in at our office in Brandon, or give us a call and we'll carry it through."

IN addition to being named a leader in the Ag industry throughout the province, the award-winning BMO’s 2023 Farm Families will receive the following during the Royal Winter Fair, March 27-April 1, 2023.

  • Each family member will receive free admission into the Fair as well as an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience hosted by BMO and the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair. 
  • Professional photographs from the ceremony will be available as an online gallery for families to download. In addition, as part of the BMO Farm Family Award tradition, each family will be presented with a personalized farm plaque. 

  • VIP seating at the evening main arena show 

  • Presentation of the family during the BMO Farm Family Ceremony. 

  • One night stay at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Conference Center during the week of March 27 – April 1, 2023
