The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added import quarterback Frank Wilczynski to the practice roster. Wilczynski transferred to Rowan University from the University of Delaware where he played receiver. In his senior year, Wilczynski completed 117 of 207 pass attempts for 1,456 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was also the school’s top rusher racking up 793 yards and 15 touchdowns on 91 carries. Wilczynski holds the school records for career rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,596 yards on 207 rushes and most rushing touchdowns in a season with 15. He was a New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Conference first team selection. Joey Elliott will be Winnipeg's starting quarterback when the Bombers face the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium. Starter Steven Jyles and backup Alex Brink both suffered season ending injuries in Winnipeg's 27-8 loss to the Toronto Argonauts this past weekend. The Bombers will play their season finale on Friday, November 5th at home against the Calgary Stampeders.
