Boundary Co-op is still accepting applications for the 2nd annual tree planting program, where up to 450 trees will be donated to enhance green space in the communities Boundary Co-op serves in.

Marketing Manager, Cheryl Rushing says they're thrilled to bring this campaign back to their communities, which ties into Federated Co-op's pillar of sustainability to their brand values.

"Local groups, organizations, anyone who is planning some green space improvements can apply for some free trees though our program," shares Rushing. "We're very excited about it! It was a popular program last year and we're excited to have it back again this year. We were able to supply trees to almost all of the groups who applied, and we're looking forward to being able to do this again."

Recipients of last year include parks, day cares, campgrounds and even a golf course!  "We've added to so many areas and it's really open for anybody who's got a project in mind where they'd like to add a bit of green and some life to their communities."

Rushing says there are about 450 trees to be donated to communities in their trade areas with more variety this year, including lilacs, different kinds of poplar trees, ash and more.

"This is a way for us to add some long-term sustainability, and something that will be around for years to come. Trees are around for decades, if not hundreds of years and we want to be part of that and make an impact for the long-term," adds Rushing.
