Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation advises repairs are required on a bridge on PR 253 over the Pembina River.
The bridge was closed late yesterday afternoon, and is located about 12 kilometres west of Pilot Mound.
The necessary repairs are scheduled to be underway March 26th, and are estimated to take about six weeks to complete.
As part of an ongoing inspection program, M-I-T staff found damage under this bridge caused by the 2011 flood.
The type of damage to the bridge is called scour, where water has taken away rock and supporting material under the bridge's support system.
Signs are in place clearly marking the PR 253 road closure.
