'In 2022, businesses with 1 to 99 employees comprised 98.0% of all employer businesses in Canada and employed 10.7 million individuals which is almost two-thirds (63.0%) of all employees, as such, small enterprises play a very important role in employing Canadians and are a significant driver in shaping the economy,' states Community Futures Westman.

Community Futures Westman, in partnership with the CPA, and inviting small business owners who wish to expand, manager or entrepreneurs to two free upcoming workshops in the Westman Region. They will be discussing Financial Survival for Entrepreneurs at both locations with Chartered Professional Accountant, Stephanie Will.

Stephanie Will is a Senior Manager at BDO Canada LLP and primarily works with owner-managed businesses. Will is from Brandon, Manitoba but spent the first 10 years of her career in Calgary, Alberta working with BDO. She has served as the treasurer on the YWCA Board of Directors and is a board member of Brandon Crime Stoppers. She regularly volunteers with CPA Manitoba and other organizations to present on Financial Literacy programs. 

Kola Oloko is a Business Analyst with Community Futures Westman.  "We're going to be talking about managing growth and expansion, key numbers to expand and monitor, and we'll be taking case studies as well, and then we'll be talking about tax."

"These seminars are for anybody and everybody who thinks about business, generally," adds Oloko.  "We want everyone to know what we do and how we are part of their community.  We wish to improve the knowledge of our entrepreneurs and reach out to more people across the Westman Region."

Oloko says Community Futures Westman is an organization where their door is always open to business owners, or those looking at starting their own business.  "If we don't know the answers to your questions, we can certainly refer you to the institutions that could help you.
