The past weekend was a busy one for police and ems staff in southwestern Manitoba.
R-C-M-P in western Manitoba are investigating a crash that killed a man on a motorcycle.
Police say the Honda collided head-on with a pickup in Shoal Lake on Friday night.
The 22-year-old rider was from Shoal Lake and was pronounced dead when he was taken to hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck -- a 54-year-old man from Shoal Lake -- wasn't injured.


A second fatal accident happened northwest of Brandon on the weekend as well.
The fire chief in a Manitoba community where two people died over the weekend says it appears one of the victims had been trying to put out the blaze with water.
Kelly Slon says he believes the deaths in Rossburn were due to smoke inhalation, but autopsies have yet to be done on their bodies.
People in Rossburn say the man and woman were elderly.
Slon says it appears the fire was started by an electric furnace.
