The Souris-Glenwwod Community Christmas Dinner is returning to the Souris Memorial Complex next week Thursday!

Organizing committee member, Steven Sopel, says they're thrilled to bring the community supper back - it's 6th year - after a 2-year hiatus due to the pandemic restrictions.

"It's good to see the friendly faces once again, and just see the joy at this community gathering that we've grown accustomed to in Souris," shares Sopel.  "Having family and friends join together over the holidays - that's what it's all about!"

The supper is free however participants are encouraged to pick up tickets to help with tracking the number of people to prepare for.  Tickets are available at a host of businesses in Souris, again free of charge.

The committee is expecting between 400-450 people to join them as in previous years prior to Covid.

"Again, that's what the purpose of this is, to get the entire community out and be with people and break bread with each other, and who knows? Maybe there will be a special guest arriving at some point as well!"

"We would like to thank all the local businesses that have offered to do some to take the cooking for us, and the volunteers that have helped donate their time and baking and energy to help organize this event," he adds.  "We wouldn't be doing it without all the support in Souris!"

Please listen to more of the interview with Steven Sopel and CJRB's Betty Sawatzky, as Steven shares more about the community dinner.
