Depite the indications from his Leader, the federal Liberal agriculture critic says it's unlikely we'll have a federal election this year.

"With a minority government, an election is possible at any point in time...it's hard to say where it might go. I in fact think you could find this parliament sit well into 2012 before we end up having an election," says Wayne Easter.

In year-end interviews, Michael Ignatieff changed his message to say that the Liberals believe Canadians are ready for an election.
