Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz has announced another investment in the Canadian Pork Council's national swine traceability program.

The $3.7 million brings the federal government's total investment to $7 million.

The PigTrace system is intended to give Canadian producers a competitive edge when working to access new markets. The national database would also be used in the case of an animal disease outbreak.
