Two new cases of COVID-19 were identified in Manitoba Friday, bringing the total to 292, 26 in the Prairie Mountain Health region.

Officials say they continue to watch the patterns and trends of COVID-19 transmission as they implement Manitoba's reopening strategy.

Effective today, the limit on gathering sizes has been increased to 25 people for indoors and 50 for outdoor areas, as long as social distancing measures remain in place.

Currently one person is hospitalized, none in intensive care. The province is monitoring 18 active cases and 267 individuals have recovered from COVID-19, and the number of deaths remains at seven.

As of yesterday, an additional 873 laboratory tests were performed. This brings the total number of tests performed since early February to 37,272.
