The Canadian Human Rights Commission has ruled against a
complaint by a former soldier that he couldn't get a job as a
janitor because he's a man.

Paul Marchand was trying to get work at Canadian Forces Base
Shilo, but says women got the cleaning jobs instead.

Tribunal member Athanasios Hadjis wrote in the ruling that sex
wasn't a factor in Marchand being turned down.

The commission heard from D-N-D that Marchand's first try for a
job was rejected because of problems with his online application.

The department told the commission his second application failed
because there was a better candidate.
