The Boissevain-Morton Library and Archives recently landed a grant through the local foundation and that money is being used to make improvements inside the library.

Librarian Michelle Scott appreciates the $4,500 grant and says it’s being put to go use at the library.

“With lock downs and everything like that our large print material was getting used a lot. So we applied to the Boissevain-Morton Foundation for a grant to buy shelving and more books.”

Scott adds over the years they’ve been supported by the Boissevain Health Auxiliary and some of the new large print material is being purchased thanks to support from that group.

“Some people stream materials but we saw a lot more use of people using large print. Lets also face it when we get older the large print is much easier to read. We just added onto the ends of a few rows and put up the new shelves.”

Scott says the shelves arrived over the past few weeks and is in place.

“Now we wait for the new books and that arrival date all depends on the publishers.”
