The following is the RCMP report to April 28, 2015.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.
- 9 traffic violations
- 6 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)
- 3 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)
- 7 crimes against property
- 5 crimes against person
- 1 other criminal code
 

April 21, 2015
A report was received of a theft in Boissevain.  The matter is being investigated.
 
Police received a report of some youth riding a quad in Killarney.  The youth were located and warned.  Parents are reminded to have youths always wear a helmet and if not of legal driving age, the parents have to be in eye contact and supervising the youths.
 
April 23, 2015
Police were dispatched through 911 to a disturbance in Killarney.  A male subject had assaulted two people and caused damage to the residence.  Police attended the residence and were advised the subject had fled and stole a vehicle.  Police made patrols around Killarney and were updated through dispatch that the Onstar had been contacted and the stolen vehicle was located in Brandon.  Brandon Police Service located the vehicle and apprehended the male who is facing several charges with Killarney RCMP and several charges with Brandon Police Service. 
 
Police were dispatched to an assault in Boissevain where a male youth needed stitches due to an argument with his brother.  Investigation revealed that the male was pushed into a water cooler cutting his back on a sharp steel edge.  The injury was not intentional and no charges were laid.
 
Police assisted with a matter under the Family Relations Act in Killarney and it was resolved.
 
A police recruit was asked during the exam, "What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother"?  He said, "call for backup".
 
April 24, 2015
Police received a report regarding a theft of fuel in the RM of Brenda-Waskada.  The matter is under investigation. 
 
Police received a report of two stolen welders in the RM of Turtle Mountain.  The matter is being investigated.
 
April 25, 2015
Police received a report of a disturbance in Boissevain.  Police attended and all parties involved  were gone.  A male had tried to start a fight and finally left the bar when he heard police were en route!!!  Police made patrols but didn't locate the suspect. 
 
April 26, 2015
Police received a report of a white half ton truck throwing beer cans out the window in the RM of Argyle.  No license plate was obtained.  Police  patrolled the area with negative results.  We are hoping it was not because of....................
Two people, Bobby and Earl, were driving down the road drinking a couple of bottles of Bud.
The passenger, Bobby, said "Lookey thar up ahead, Earl, it's a police roadblock!! We're gonna get busted fer drinkin' these here beers!!"
"Don't worry, Bobby," Earl said. "We'll just pull over and finish drinkin' these beers then peel off the label and stick it on our foreheads, and throw the bottles under the seat."
"What fer?", asked Bobby.
"Just let me do the talkin', OK?," said Earl.
Well, they finished their beers, threw the empties out of sight & put label on each of their foreheads.
When they reached the roadblock, the RCMP said, "You boys been drinkin'?"
"No, sir," said Earl while pointing at the labels. "We're on the patch."
 
April 27, 2015
Police were dispatched to a barn fire in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton.  No injuries to persons were sustained but several calves had died in the fire while about 180 head of cattle escaped.  The fire was not deemed suspicious in nature.  The RCMP wishes to extend our condolences to the family for their loss to the livestock and property.
 
April 28, 2015
Police investigated an assault allegation in Boissevain.  The matter was unfounded.
Police were called out to an assault in the Waskada area.  The matter was investigated and the complainant declined to lay charges.

Criminal Record Checks and Vulnerable Sector Searches:
Our goal is to complete these checks in a timely manner, however please plan ahead as they can take up to 3 weeks to complete.
 
Please also remember that Criminal Checks and Vulnerable Sector Searches for volunteers must provide a letter from the organization stating their volunteer status or there will be a $10.00 fee.
Criminal Record Checks for employment are $10.00 each.
 
Police would like to remind the public that if anyone requires fingerprinting services, they must make an appointment at the Killarney RCMP detachment.  Drop-ins cannot be accommodated.
 
We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
 
The Boissevain RCMP business hours are Monday and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
 
The Deloraine RCMP business hours are  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
 
The general public is encouraged to attend during those hours to ensure someone will be here. It is also recommended to call ahead, however, in the event of an emergency, call 911 or the emergency line.
