The following is the RCMP report to August 9, 2022.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

Killarney/Boissevain/Deloraine Detachment

Please be advised that Boissevain and Deloraine Detachments do not have an administration person.  Please call Killarney Detachment to file a complaint or apply for criminal record checks. 

Call 204-523-7293 Killarney for administration requests.   The Killarney office can be contacted for criminal record checks, complaints, hit and run reports etc.  Criminal record checks may take up to 4 weeks so PLAN ACCORDINGLY.  In the event of an emergency, call 911 or 204-523-7255. 

If you need to speak with a police officer immediately or to report to police in accordance with your court ordered conditions, please call 204-523-7255. 

Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks.  RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks.  You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check. 

Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.

Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.

Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.

YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS

Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers. 

 

July 12, 2022

Police recovered a stolen vehicle from the Grassland area. The matter is under investigation.

 

July 13, 2022

Police received a report of an unknown male subject who just walked across the border. Description of the subject was given to police who located and transported the subject to the detachment for Integrated Border Enforcement Team members.  The subject was identified and transported back the US Customs officers and placed in their custody.  

Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 23. One female passenger transported to Killarney Hospital by ambulance for injuries. F150 had hit the back of a sprayer farm equipment.  

 

July 14, 2022

Police received a report of a break and enter to a business in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of theft in Minto. Matter is under investigation.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

 

July 15, 2022

Police received an anonymous tip regarding impaired driving in Waskada.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Killarney.  Matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of trespassing in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain area.  The subject was given a warning.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

 

July 16, 2022

Police received a report of an impaired driver in Boissevain. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

July 17, 2022

Police were called out to a vehicle fire in the back alley of Spencer Street in Hartney. Vehicle was destroyed by the fire when police arrived on scene. No injuries. 

 

July 18, 2022

Police received a report of individuals that were spotted on the Killarney School roof. Patrols will be made in the area. 

Police received a report of a domestic dispute in Killarney. A male subject was charged with assault with a weapon and released on an undertaking. A female subject was charged with assault and released on an undertaking.

 

July 19, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Boissevain.

Police received a report of mischief to a truck overnight in Killarney. 

Police received a report of defamatory libel in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health in Killarney.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Baldur. The complainant declined to press charges.

Police received a report of mischief at the golf course in Boissevain. The matter was resolved.

 

July 20, 2022

Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Boissevain. Everyone located safe.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Killarney.

 

July 21, 2022

RCMP were dispatched for a stranded cyclist on highway 18 north of Killarney at 1:16 a.m.. Police located the cyclist and they were given a ride back home.

Police received a report of an online investment scam in Cartwright-Roblin area. The matter is being investigated.

 

July 22, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Belmont. The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of an off road vehicle fire in the RM of Argyle. No injuries were reported.

 

July 23, 2022

Police received a report of an unwanted person in a residence in Killarney. Police attended and the intoxicated female was removed and escorted home.

RCMP received a call of a disturbance in Killarney.  A female was arrested under the intoxicated persons detention act and transported to Killarney detachment to be picked up by relatives. Once picked up, police were called again to deal with the same female. She was arrested again under the intoxicated persons detention act and lodged until sober.

 

July 24, 2022

Police received a report of uttering threats in Killarney. Did not meet the thresh hold for criminal code charges.

Police received a report of three teenagers on top of Baldur Bar, drinking and then drinking on the street near the bar. The caller could not identify the youth.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

Police arrested a male who entered Canada at a border crossing and had a warrant for arrest. The male was subsequently released on an undertaking.

 

July 25, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Killarney.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Ninette.

Police received a report of a sexual assault in the RM of Brenda-Waskada. The matter was unfounded.

Police were dispatched to a structure fire near Killarney. Fire department extinguished the fire, no injuries.

 

July 26, 2022

Police received a report of a theft in Hartney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a call to do a well being check on a male in Boissevain. The male was located safe.

 

July 27, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

 

July 29, 2022

Police received a report of disturbing the peace when two people were arguing in Killarney. Police attended and the situation had resolved itself.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Cartwright-Robin.

 

July 30, 2022

RCMP dispatched to report of a motor vehicle theft in Killarney. Matter is being investigated.

Police were called to an ongoing neighbor dispute in Deloraine. Police were advised a female entered a residence without permission and preceded to yell at the home owner. Police followed up with the complainant and agreed a trespassing fine would be sufficient and then re-evaluate if behavior continues. The suspect was served with a trespass ticket $672.00.

Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in Killarney-Turtle Mountain. No license plate was given and police searched for the vehicle by description but were unable to locate.

Police received a report of an impaired driver in Rock Lake area. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival and patrols were made.

 

July 31, 2022

Police received a report of a breach of peace in Boissevain. Matter was resolved.

Police received a request for a well being check on a male in Killarney. Everyone located safe.

 

August 2, 2022

Killarney RCMP received a dispatch to a two vehicle collision. It was reported that the SUV driver, slowed down, checked and went through the yield clipping a semi. Minor damage to the vehicle. No injuries.

Police received a report of a theft in Killarney. The items were later returned.

Police assisted ambulance with a call in Killarney.

 

August 3, 2022

Police received a report of a break and enter to Hartney Golf Course. The matter is being investigated.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Deloraine.

 

August 4, 2022

RCMP received a 911 call of a single vehicle rollover on highway 3. Police attended. The male driver had fallen asleep and rolled into the north ditch. The driver was taken to Killarney Hospital by ambulance with injuries. Alcohol was not a factor.

 

August 5, 2022

Police received a report of theft in Killarney. The matter was unfounded as it was deemed a civil matter.

Police received a report of a theft in Baldur when a youth was reported to be bullied and took a Nintendo Switch. The complainant wanted members to keep the peace while they attempt to retrieve the console. Complainant was told this was not a police matter, all parties educated and encouraged to resolve the matter in a civil fashion.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

 

August 7, 2022

RCMP received a 911 call in Hartney, complainant wanted dads truck and said never mind and hung up. RCMP called back and the complainant was evasive. A friend came on the phone, who advised that the complainant was intoxicated but everyone was fine. Police followed up with the complainant the next morning and educated him on misuse of 911 and a possible fine and court appearance.

Police received a report of a male being unlawfully in a dwelling in Killarney. The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of a suspect breaking into a truck on property in Hartney. The subject drove the vehicle around the parking lot and left the vehicle. The truck was rummaged thorough and a hammer was missing but no damage to vehicle. The matter is being investigated.

Police received a report of a male and female in the sunroom of the house on Johnson Street in Boissevain. The suspects were identified and were charged under the Trespass Act.

 

August 8, 2022

Police received a report of a break and enter to the Deloraine Golf Course. Matter is being investigated.

Police received a report of vandalism at the Killarney Beach and agricultural grounds. More patrols will be made in the area.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Boissevain.

Police received a report of failing to comply with an order in Boissevain. The matter was unfounded.

 

August 9, 2022

Police received a 911 call that male had been hit by a vehicle and trapped underneath in Boissevain. Police attended. The male was taken to Boissevain hospital with injuries. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a single vehicle accident on highway 18 in Killarney. The male driver was not injured and cleared by ambulance at the scene.

 

Reminder:  It is important to report ALL thefts, stolen or lost property to police in a timely fashion so that it can be followed up on by police.
