March 8, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Family Orders and Agreements Act in Boissevain.

Police did COVID compliance checks in Waskada and Killarney.

Police received a report of mischief in Deloraine.  The matter is under investigation.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Deloraine.

 

March 9, 2022

Police received a report of a scam in Killarney and the RM of Argyle.  The Canada Revenue Agency scam is alive and well asking for interact deposit information.  No information was exchanged.

Police received an anonymous complaint about suspicious people coming and going into a residence on Lovett Street in Deloraine. 

 

March 10, 2022

Police received a report of an injured deer on highway 3 near Killarney.  Police attended and well.......you know.......the deer went to a better place.

Police received a report of a two vehicle collision on highway 3 due to poor visibility. No injuries, vehicles were not blocking traffic, both vehicles came back active and both drivers have a valid drivers license. Involved parties exchanged insurance particulars and Turtle Mountain notified and towed the vehicle.

911 call of an unknown vehicle and a woman trying to walk away from a vehicle.  The vehicle followed her and the complainant was unsure if there was signs of distress.  They didn't know if the woman wanted to go with the driver but eventually the woman did get in the car willingly. Vehicle was seen heading north bound on highway 10 towards Brandon. Police made a patrol of the Boissevain area, did not locate vehicle. A BOLO was sent to Brandon RCMP with the details of the vehicle.

 

March 11, 2022

Police received a report of possible child pornography in Boissevain.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a breach of court order in Deloraine.  There was no police enforceable section in the court order and the complainant was advised to call their lawyer.

 

March 12, 2022

Police received a report of assault in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain area. A female advised she was assaulted and pushed off a snowmobile and left.  She also advised the male had a taser and two knives in his possession. A male located and was arrested and charged with assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.  He was remanded into custody and taken to Winnipeg Remand Centre.

 

March 13, 2022

RCMP received a call of a disturbance in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Open line 911 call, could hear a male and a female voice yelling in the background. Arguing could be heard, did not sound like violence was taking place. Then the call disconnected. Police arrived on scene, spoke with both residents.   Neither showed any injury or signs of distress. No disclosures of any assaults or physical violence.

RCMP were called for a threats/assault complaint in Deloraine. Police attended and obtained statements. A male was arrested and placed on no contact conditions and will be referred to Community Justice program.

Police received a report of break and enter and someone in a residence in Killarney.  Police attended and forced entry into the residence.  Police located a female subject inside who was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. 

 

March 14, 2022

Police received a wallet that was found at the car wash in Killarney.  It was returned to the rightful owner.  Thank you to the good Samaritan who turned it in.

There will be a new process for criminal record checks.  Please call either Killarney (204) 523-7293 or Boissevain/Deloraine (204) 534-7262 and provide your e-mail address and phone number.  The criminal record check forms will be emailed to you to be filled out.  Complete and return by mail with a $10 money order made out to the Receiver-General; or a letter stating you are a volunteer.  The mailing address for Killarney RCMP is Box 490, Killarney, MB  R0K 1G0 and Boissevain RCMP is Box 25, Boissevain, MB R0K 0E0.  

Reminders:

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Phone Busters Fraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Phone Busters can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

Boissevain RCMP will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

 

RCMP WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THE PUBLIC TO USE THE POLICE EMERGENCY LINE FOR YOUR LOCAL OFFICE (204) 523-7255 or 911.  The administration line may not be checked until the following day or possibly the Monday following a weekend.  Members may be in another community or on the road.
