The municipality of Deloraine-Winchester wants the Province of Manitoba to lower the speed along certain roads.

Council is worried about PR 450 and is deteriorating condition. “We were approached by the Lake Metigoshe Lake Improvement Group to have the speed for heavy truck traffic reduced from 90 kilometers per hour down to 70” said Reeve Gord Weidenhamer.

He points out that stretch of highway from Highway 3 down to the lake is in rough shape and needs to be repaired.

“There is a lot of truck traffic on that road an it has taken a toll on PR 450.”

Deloraine-Winchester council has drafted a letter asking the government to consider lowering the pseed for heavy trucks until that highway is repaired.
