Brayden Schenn of the Brandon Wheat Kings along with Cody Eakin of Winnipeg and Quinton Howden of Oakbank will play for Canada at the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championship which begins Boxing Day in Buffalo. The three were named to Canada's 22-player roster. Schenn is the only returning forward from last years Canadian team that lost to the United States in the Gold Medal game in Saskatoon. Goaltender Calvin Pickard of Winnipeg did not make the team. He was among the final nine cuts. Canada will open the World Juniors against Russia on December 26th.
