Another soaking rain beginning Thursday evening.

A broad area of rain will develop over the United States on Thursday and move into portions of the southeastern Prairies on Thursday night. This area moderate rain will move slowly northwards, persisting through Friday before beginning to taper off on Friday night.

Rainfall will be heavy at times, and storm-total rainfall will reach 30 to 50 mm in many places. Embedded showers or thunderstorms could produce locally higher rainfall totals in excess of 60 mm.

This storm is still in the early stages of formation in the Central Plains of the United States. Forecasts may change as it takes shape over the coming 12 to 24 hours. Please watch for updated forecasts and/or alerts as the system approaches.
