It's day two of the Provincial A, AA and AAA High School Varsity Volleyball Championships. Wawanesa is at the A boys championship in Elm Creek. The Warriors lost to Treherne and beat Frontier Mosakahiken. Wawanesa will meet Ste. Rose and the host Cobras today. Deloraine is at the A girls championship in Gretna. The Colts beat Gilbert Plains and will face Rivers, Grandview and Duke of Marlborough. The AA championships are in The Pas. Souris girls lost to Warren and Elton. The Sabres meet the host Margaret Barbour Spartans and Major Pratt today. Boissevain boys lost to Major Pratt and beat Carberry. The Broncos will take on Gabrielle Roy and Immanuel Christian today. The Neelin Spartans are at the AAA boys championship in Steinbach and the AAA girls championship in Neepawa. Neelin girls lost to Westgate and Sanford. The Spartans will play their final round robin game today against Lorette. Neelin boys lost to John Taylor and Westwood. The Spartans face the host Steinbach Christian Flames today. 


The St. Paul's Crusaders will face Steinbach Regional Monday night in Winnipeg in the final of the Provincial AAAA High School varsity boys volleyball championship. The Sabres swept Vincent Massey 25-18, 25-22, 25-23 at the University of Manitoba's Investors Group Athletic Centre. The Crusaders beat Lord Selkirk 25-22, 26-24, 18-25. 25-21 in the other semifinal.


Deloraine's Ashton Bell, Jocelyne Larocque of Ste. Anne and Kristen Campbell of Brandon are on Canada's roster to the play the second leg of the Rivalry Series, December 15th - 19th in Henderson, Nevada and Los Angeles, California. Bell, who is into her final season with the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, did not play the first three games of the series which were won by the Americans in Kamloops, Kelowna and Seattle. Larocque and Campbell were on Team Canada's roster for the opening three games. The cross-border rivals will play two additional matchups in Canada in early 2023. Host locations will be announced in the coming months.


Winkler Flyers head coach and general manager Justin Falk has been named the head coach for Team Canada West which will compete at the 2022 World Junior A Hockey Challenge from December 11th - 18th in Cornwall, Ontario. Three Manitobans have been invited to Team West's selection camp and they are forward Ty Paisley of Steinbach who plays for the Steinbach Pistons; goaltender Andrew Ness of Winnipeg who plays for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and defenseman Sam Court of Winnipeg who plays for the Brooks Bandits. The selection camp will take place from December 5th - 7th in Cornwall. 


The Manitoba Moose lost 4-3 to Milwaukee at Canada Life Centre. Jordan Gross and Luke Evangelista scored in the shootout for the Admirals. Alex Limoges, Wyatt Bongiovanni and Jeff Mallot scored in regulation for the Moose. 


Canada fell 2-1 to Morocco in its final Group Stage match at the 2022 World Cup. Canada lost all three games in Qatar. Canada will co-host the 2022 World Cup with the United States and Mexico.
