The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will face the Toronto Argonauts in the 109th Grey Cup Sunday in Regina. Brady Oliveira ran for 130 yards and the Winnipeg defense forced four turnovers as the two-time defending Grey Cup champions defeated the BC Lions 28-20 in the CFL's West Division final. Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros, who left the game late in the fourth quarter with a foot injury and did not return, completed 14-of-20 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown to Dalton Schoen on the Bombers first possession. Janarion Grant added a 92-yard punt return touchdown and quarterback Dakota Prukop had a one-yard touchdown plunge. McLeod Bethel-Thompson threw two touchdown passes as the Argonauts beat the Montreal Alouettes 34-27 in the East Division final. The Blue Bomber and Argos will meet in the Grey Cup for the first time since the 1950 "Mud Bowl".


Jordan Robertson had a hat trick and Jesse Bernard had a goal and three assists as the Killarney Shamrocks defeated Souris 5-1 in the lone Tiger Hills Hockey League game. Wade Thompson also scored for the Shamrocks. Cody Doyle had the lone goal for the Elks.


In the Westman High School Hockey League - Conner Graham had a goal and an assist and Colten Challner made 25 saves as the Boissevain/Souris Broncos doubled up on the Minnedosa/Erickson Chancellors 4-2. Josh Archambault had three goals and five assists as the Killarney/Wawanesa Raiders beat the Crocus Plainsmen 8-6. Ward Brister scored 335 into overtime to lift Neepawa past Swan Valley 4-3. Chael Rozdeba and Nathan Espenell scored two goals each in the Hamiota/Rivers/Elton/Strathclair Huskies 5-4 victory over the Sandy Bay Badgers. Colby Asselstine scored the go-ahead goal 4:32 into the third period as the Birtle/Shoal Lake/Rossburn Falcons edged the Glenboro/Carberry/Baldur Wildcats 3-2. William Miner had a goal and an assist as the Dauphin Clippers downed the Reston/Elkhorn/Melita/Pierson Renegades 4-1.


The Southwest Cougars gave up four unanswered first period goals and lost 6-4 to the Pembina Valley Hawks in Morden. Nicholas Cullen scored twice for the Cougars while singles went to Jack Clark and Kelby Diehl.


Billie Baranyk, Hayley Kolosky, Haley Blaine and Madison Blaine did the goal scoring as the defending Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League champion Westman Wildcats defeated the Pembina Valley Hawks 4-3 in Hartney. Wildcats netminder Payton Murray made 21 saves.


Blake Wheeler scored the tying goal with six seconds left in regulation and Mark Scheifele potted his second goal of the game 54 seconds into overtime as the Winnipeg Jets shaded the Seattle Kraken 3-2. It was Wheeler's 300th career NHL goal. Jets netminder David Rittich made 19 saves in his first start since October 28th. 


Leon Gawanke scored 33 seconds into overtime to lift the Manitoba Moose past the Calgary Wranglers 4-3 at Canada Life Centre. Cole Maier, Henri Nikkanen and Chaz Lucius scored in regulation for the Moose who trailed 2-0 after the first period. The game was tied 3-3 after 40 minutes. 


Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David are two of the headliners on the Canadian roster for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. The 26-man roster was unveiled Sunday, 10 days before Canada plays second-ranked Belgium in its Group F opener. Canada will play Croatia on November 27th and Morocco on December 1st.
