Josh Morrissey scored his second goal of the game 2:10 into overtime to lift the Winnpeg Jets past the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 Monday night at Canada Life Centre. Trailing 3-0 the Hurricanes scored three times in four minutes and nine seconds with the extra attacker on the ice late in the third period to force OT. Pierre-Luc Dubois and Mikey Eyssimont with his first career NHL goal also scored for the Jets (11-5-1) who being a three-game road trip Wednesday against the Minnesota Wild.


Neepawa Titans forward Hayden Stocks is a Manitoba Junior Hockey League Star of the Week. The 19-year-old Edmonton native had a goal and six assists in the Titans back-to-back wins over the Virden Oil Capitals this past weekend.


Winnipeg Ice forward Zach Benson is the Western Hockey League’s Player of the Week. The 17-year-old Chilliwack native had three goals and four assists in two games against the Regina Pats helping the Ice set a franchise record with its 15th consecutive victory.


Canada’s National Women’s Hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision the United States Sunday night in Seattle. Sarah Nurse and Marie-Philip Poulin did the goals scoring for the Canadians who have lost the first three games of The Rivalry Series. The series resumes next month with games in Henderson, Nevada on December 15th and Los Angeles, California on December 19th.


Manitoba champions Zachary Wasylik has a 2-0 record and Lisa Birchard is 1-0 at the 2022 Everest Curling Club Championships at the Ice Palace in the West Edmonton Mall.
