Ronin Mouck and Tyron Sweetman each had a goal and an assist in the Dauphin Clippers 5-2 victory over the Virden Golden Bears Tuesday night at Tundra Oil & Gas Place. Ryder Chapman, Boston Karlson and Jayton Kabel also scored for the Westman High School Hockey League leading Clippers who improved to 6-0-1 on the season. Holden Hayward and Alex Bueche replied for the Golden Bears. 


The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League will host a Showcase Event on December 2nd and 3rd at the Hockey for all Centre in Winnipeg. The top 68 players will compete in a 4-game Best on Best tournament. Game times are Saturday, December 2nd at 5 p.m. & 8 p.m. and Sunday, December 3rd at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.


Kyle Connor scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season and picked up an assist as the Winnipeg Jets defeated New Jersey 6-3 at Canada Life Centre. Connor is tied with Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews for the NHL goal scoring lead. Nikolaj Ehlers also scored twice for the Jets who have won four of their last five games. Cole Perfetti scored in his fourth straight game. Morgan Barron also found the back of the net for Winnipeg. Josh Morrissey chipped in with four helpers. Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck made 31 saves.


The Manitoba Moose reassigned defenceman Dawson Barteaux to the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads. The 23-year-old Foxwarren native has four points (2G, 2A) in three games with the Steelheads this season. He was a sixth-round pick (168th overall) of the Dallas Stars in the 2018 NHL Draft.


The Winnipeg Blue Bombers held their first practice session at Tim Hortons Field. Players participated in a walkthrough Tuesday afternoon. Linebacker Adam Bighill, who was injured in the first half of the West Division final against the B.C. Lions and did have his right foot and leg stabilized in a walking boot when he arrived with the team in Hamilton on Monday, was on the field yesterday without the walking boot but did not take part in the walkthrough. The Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes meet in the 110th Grey Cup on Sunday.
