Manitoba Health is warning people to beware of a growing number of ticks that can carry Lyme disease.
The province says blacklegged ticks have now been found in areas across southeastern Manitoba and south-central areas west of the Red River.
Since 2009, 28 cases of confirmed and probable Lyme disease have been confirmed in Manitoba.
Some people can get seriously ill from the bug bacteria, which causes symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, cough and and confusion.
