The Brandon Wheat Kings have been bit by the injury bug. 3 players from their line-up which earned 3 wins to start the season are out. Left-winger Michael Ferland will be undergoing knee surgery later this week. Rookie defenceman Jordan Fransoo and 20-year old right-winger David Toews will join Ferland on the sidelines for an extended period of time.

Fransoo, Toews and Ferland are not the only players down for the count. Also on the list of players not suiting up for the Wheat Kings are rookie blueliner Rene Hunter, and former Waywayseecappo Wolverine right-winger Jens Meilleur.

The Wheat Kings have had a busy week with 4 games in 5 nights and are preparing to host 2 more match-ups over Thanksgiving weekend. The Red Deer Rebels will be in Manitoba Friday, and Brandon will take on the Tri-City Americans Saturday night at Westman Place.
