"It has been a great year in school this year," says Grant Wiesner, Superintendent of Turtle Mountain School Division.  "It's been so great to see students learning, watch teachers teaching, and just the fun it is to be together at school!"

A typical school year teaches reading, writing and arithmetic, and in today's world it's computer and keyboard skills, shops class, the sciences ... but school also facilitates opportunities for students to participate in extracurricular activities like sports, choir, band, drama, art, the list goes on.

"There's been so many extracurriculars going on, right from grade 5 to 12," shares Wiesner. "It's just so great to see students at school but then doing so much with the school and with the extracurriculars afterwards and following their passions and their interests."

"Graduation itself is such a momentous achievement and really the entire Turtle Mountain School Division community, Killarney, Boissevain, Minto, our colony schools, we celebrate with the grads!" says Wiesner. "Whether those students are heading off to university or college, if they're starting a new career, or maybe taking a totally different path, I think they've had a really good foundation built here in Turtle Mountain School Division."

"They've got knowledge, they have skills, they have experiences that they have gained over the years, and they can use them to follow and chase their dreams," continues Wiesner, "and it's my hope that our grads aren't afraid to step out of their comfort zones, that they're willing to embrace challenges and that they always, always keep learning!"
