A group in Waskada plans to hold an auction Thursday night with money raised going to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

Every year over the past number of years some area churches and a hutterite colony have worked together to host the fund raising event. “We feel it`s a great cause and hope to see lots of people at the auction” said one of the organizers Heather Meggison.

The evening starts with a light supper at 5:30pm and then the auction at 7:00pm. “We encourage people to join us for supper and there will be a collection taken for that portion of the evening and then we will have a brief presentation from Harold Penner with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.”

The sale will be held in the Fellowship Community Church in Waskada. Last year the auction raised roughly $13,500.
