Saturday, May 11th Report:

Possession of Stolen Credit Card / Property

At approx. 11:25 AM police located two males in the 200 block of 1st St.  The two had been identified via store video using stolen credit cards at two stores in Brandon. The cards had been reported stolen from a vehicle in Kemnay MB. the night prior.  At the time of arrest, the males aged 27 and 24 were still in possession of the stolen cards.  The 24-year-old has been released with a future court date.  The 27-year-old male was also the subject of an outstanding warrant of arrest for the charges of possessing a stolen vehicle and failing to comply with a probation order.  He will appear in court later today.

Assault

Charges of assault were laid against a 15-year-old female student at Crocus Plains High School, for an unprovoked assault on a fellow student.  The incident occurred on April 26 and was recorded on the school video system.  The suspect has been released on an Undertaking with a court date of June 16.

Sexual Assault

A 31-year-old Brandon male was arrested for sexual assault for an incident that occurred at a Brandon residence on April 26.  The suspect and victim are known to each other. The suspect is currently on a release order with a condition not to have contact with the victim, from a previous charge of assault.  The suspect has since been released with a court date of June 10, charged with sexual assault and failing to comply with an Undertaking.  

Break Enter and Theft

At approx. 5:10 PM Friday, police were called to a business in the 700 block of 4th St for a break and enter.  Entry appears to have occurred through the front door.  The suspect(s) stole a pellet gun during the break in.  This matter is still under investigation.

Theft Under $5000

At approx. 6:30 PM Friday, police arrested a male for theft under $5000 after he was recorded stealing money from a tip jar at a business in the 1000 block of 18th St.  The accused was arrested in the 700 block of Rosser after officers had viewed the video.  The 30-year-old Brandon male is well known to police in Brandon.   He has been released with a court date of July 22.

Domestic Assault

At approx. 7:40 PM Friday, Police were called to a business in the 2100 block of Currie Blvd for a fight. The suspect left prior to police arrival; however, it was learned that the 23-year-old male had assaulted his ex-girlfriend during the altercation.  The male was located in the 200 block of Rosser Ave East and arrested for domestic assault.   He has since been released with a court date of July 29.

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 9 PM Friday, police received information that a male currently wanted for uttering threats was in a yard in the 800 block of Frederick St.  Officers attended and arrested the 32-year-old male on the strength of the warrant.  The accused male has since been released with a court date of May 27.

Recovered stolen vehicle

At approx. 9:20 PM police received a call reporting the caller had just located her mother’s stolen vehicle.  The vehicle was reported stolen from Rossburn to the Roblin RCMP on May 3rd.  The vehicle was located on 13th St between Rosser Ave and Pacific Ave.  The matter is still under investigation.  

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 11:25 PM Friday, police were called to a disturbance on Alaska Bay. Upon arrival they located a 24-year-old male who was found to be the subject of a warrant for failing to attend court.  Further investigation revealed he is currently the subject a release order which has a condition that he not consume alcohol.  Due to the fact he was highly intoxicated at the time of his arrest, he was also charged with failing to comply with his release order.   He will appear in court later today.

 Sunday, April 12th Report:

Fail to Comply with Probation

At approx. 2:15 PM Saturday, police were called to a disturbance in the 1000 block of Middleton Ave.  A highly intoxicated male was outside screaming, seemingly at no one. Upon arrival officers located the 43-year-old male in the parking lot.  The male was intoxicated and extremely uncooperative.  Further checks revealed he was currently wanted for failing to comply with his Probation Order.  He was arrested and held at the Brandon Police Service until sober.  He will be released with a court date of June 10.

Break Enter and Theft

At approx. 5:30 PM Saturday, police received a call from a resident in the 2300 block of Brandon Ave reporting a break into their residence.  The incident occurred within the last week.  When the homeowner returned, they found the residence ransacked and their television stolen.  The matter is still under investigation.

Uttering Threats

At approx. 8:30 PM Saturday, Police received a complaint that a 47-year-old male had threatened to harm his ex-girlfriend, and her property.  The male was arrested in the 000 block of 20th St N and held until sober.  He will be released with a court date of July 22, charged with uttering threats to his ex-girlfriend and her mother.

Fail to Comply with Release Order

At approx. 9:45 PM Saturday, Police received a call of a disturbance in the 2600 block of Rosser Ave.  An intoxicated male was “chasing and swearing at others in the area”.  Officers located the 18-year-old male, who is currently bound by a release order with curfew conditions that he was not abiding by.  The male was arrested and will be held for court later today.

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 1:15 AM Sunday, Police were called to an address on Cornell Bay by a male wanting his sister removed from the residence.  Upon arrival officers determined that there was currently a warrant for the arrest of the 28-year-old male caller, for uttering threats and two charges of sexual assault.  The warrant issued by the court was endorsed therefore the male was released with a court date of July 22.

Breach of the Peace

At approx. 1:30 AM Sunday, police were called to the area of Victoria Ave between 12th and 13th St for an intoxicated person climbing a tree in the median and throwing dirt on the roadway.  Members attended and found the 25-year-old female who was believed to be under the influence of a drug.  She was arrested for breach of the peace and will be held until sober to ensure her safety.
