Special Olympics Canada, the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Tim Hortons have partnered for a very special weekend (January 28th through 30th, 2022) of raising awareness and funding for athletes with intellectual disabilities across the country. The #ChooseToInclude campaign kicks off today at participating Tim Hortons, including right here in Southern Manitoba, and gives you a delicious way to support Special Olympics programming in your hometown through buying a limited edition Choose To Include doughnut! Also this weekend, the Law Enforcement Torch Run kicks off its celebration of 35 years of raising money for Special Olympics.

With that in mind Sergeant Scott Edwards, with the Manitoba branch of the organization, joined us Friday on the Morning Show to talk about both.

Sgt. Edwards has been involved with Special Olympics for years, and talked about how he first got involved with the movement which is focused on enriching the lives of those with intellectual disabilities through sport.

So, as your picking up your Timmies this weekend, ask for a dozen #ChoosetoInclude doughnuts to lend your support. Proceeds go to Special Olympics Canada, and will support athletes in your backyard including in Brandon, Winkler/Morden, Portage, Winnipeg and Steinbach... just to name a few communities with Special O Clubs. And remember to snap that selfie, and has tag it with #ChooseToInclude to help further the conversation about the importance of creating a more inclusive community.

You can order yours in-restaurant, at the drive-through or on the Tim Hortons mobile app, while supplies last.

If you want to make sure you don’t miss out, you can pre-order two or more dozen donuts at a time to share with friends, family, colleagues, or teammates! Just reach out to your local Tim Hortons restaurant.
