If you missed last year's summer walleye tournament at Pelican Lake then act fast to register for this their second year!

The annual event is hosted by Jaylene and Eric Evans, owners, operators and handlers of all things that squirm when-it-comes-to-fishing, at E & J Live Bait.

"This is strictly a walleye fishing tournament," says Jaylene, "and all proceeds this year will go towards Terry Fox Park.  The first year we put the money towards the community launch on Pelican Lake, fixing it up with new concrete and cleaning up around there, and then we added a secondary launch."

"Hopefully next year we can do the tournament again for something else," she adds.

Evan says they have a maximum of 50 teams that can register, and that number is closing in fast.  "Last year we had 39 teams, we didn't fill out completely but hopefully this year we'll get closer!"

A full catered supper after the tourney is included in registration costs at the Ninette Community Hall, where awards and prizes will be handed out to the winning anglers.

Grand Prize winner will receive 30% of the total intake of registration, meaning if there are 50 teams then the winner takes home $5,000.

"So, come on down and hopefully we'll have a great day," invites Eric. "Last year we had a beautiful day, it was a little warm, but everyone had a great time!"
