On the morning of 2024-05-08, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of 1st Street North.  A check of police records for the operator revealed an outstanding warrant.  A 30-year-old male has been lodged at BPS and will appear in court 2024-05-09.

Warrant

On the evening of 2024-05-08, police conducted a pedestrian check with a male in the 300 block of 1st Street.  A check of police records revealed an outstanding warrant.  A 20-year-old male has been lodged at BPS and will appear in court 2024-05-09.

Warrant/Impersonation

On the evening of 2024-05-08, police conducted a walk-through of a licensed establishment located in the 100 block of 5th Street.  Police requested a patron provide identification to verify his legal age.  The identification provided was determined to belong to another individual, followed by the accused then providing officers with a secondary name which was also not his true identity.  Investigation verified the male’s legal name, and a check of police records revealed 3 outstanding warrants of arrest.  A 23-year-old male has been lodged at BPS and will appear in court 2024-05-09 for the outstanding warrants, in addition to a new charge of impersonation.

On the evening of 2024-05-08, police attended to a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue as an unwanted male was refusing to leave.  A check of police records for the individual revealed an outstanding warrant of arrest.  A 33-year-old male has been lodged at BPS and will appear for court 2024-05-09.

Theft Over $5000

On 2024-01-05, police received a report of an internal theft by an individual who had access to a community center’s funds.  Investigation determined the individual to be responsible for hundreds of e-transfers to her own personal e-mail which totaled $48,767.  On 2024-05-08, a 30-year-old female was arrested and released with conditions to appear in court 2024-05-24 for the charge of Theft Over $5000.

Drive while Ability Impaired by Drug

On 2024-01-13, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle whereby the operator displayed signs of impairment by drug.  Investigation led to blood tests which were sent to a lab and resulted in providing an analysis that the accused was impaired by crystal meth and fentanyl.  On 2024-05-08, police attended to Brandon Correctional Centre where the 33-year-old male suspect is in custody on unrelated charges.  The accused will appear in court 2024-05-09, of the charges of Impaired Driving and Drive with High Blood Drug Concentration.

FTC Undertaking

On 2024-05-09, police conducted a pedestrian stop with an individual that was acting suspiciously in the BPS parking lot.  A check of police records revealed that the 38-year-old male is to abide by a daily curfew, which he was actively breaching.  The accused has been released with conditions to appear in court 2024-07-24 for the charge of FTC Undertaking.

Warrant/FTC Release Order

On 2024-05-09, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 300 block of 18th Street.  A check of police records revealed that the operator had an outstanding warrant of arrest.  Incident to arrest, the accused was determined to have a knife and cellphone on his person, which is contrary to conditions of his release order.  A 39-year-old has been lodged at BPS and will appear for court 2024-05-09.

Impaired Driving/Drive Over .08

On 2024-05-09, police observed a vehicle travelling southbound along 17th Street East at a high rate of speed.  Prior to police being able to initiate emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle proceeded to cross Hwy 110 and enter the ditch.  The operator did not sustain any injuries and displayed signs of impairment.  The 32-year-old male was conveyed to BPS whereby a breath sample analysis indicated that the accused’s blood alcohol concentration was in excess of the legal limit.  As the accused resides out of Province, he has been held for a bail hearing before the court on 2024-05-09 for the charges of Impaired Driving and Drive Over .08 mg%.
