It seemed that almost every other person was wearing a Max Poulin jersey at last night's Goldeye game. Now, that was obviously not the case, but I did notice that Max signed autographs nonstop from the beginning of the game until the 7th inning begdan. June 14th was Max Poulin night as the Winnipeg Goldeyes retired his jersey during a Pre game ceremony. The ceremony featured comments from the popular shotstop and former Goldeye, Counsellor Gord Steeves, former Manager Hal Lanier and GM Andrew Collier.  His parents and brother were also in attendance, having flown in from his hometown Quebec.  The antual announcement and displaying of the retired number was accompanied by a brief fireworks. I did manage to squeeze in a short conversation with Max, as he came off the field

Max Poulin was one of the very best ever to suit up for the Winnipeg Goldeyes, as was evident by records he holds to this day, and the video tribute that played on the big screen.  Thanks for making ball exciting, and chosing to make Manitoba your home, Max.
