The Reeve for the R.M. of Morton is looking forward to the New Year. Bob McCallum says in 2011 he'd like to see more residents get on board with yard beautification efforts. He adds a lot of people have gone through great efforts to make their yards look beautiful and notes he's seeing more gate signs going up on those yards identifying who lives there. McCallum says people not orginal to the area do notice these small efforts when they visit the area.

Meanwhile, McCallum adds the oil industry has had a big impact on the town of Boissevain in 2010 with restaurants and hotels consistantly full. He notes there is indication there will be more development, and as for what happens in the Regent field he doesn't know, but hopes something will come forward.

McCallum also hopes to move forward with plans to build a recreation complex in the municipality. He expects good things in the future and says a facilitator has been hired who is familiar with these types of projects.
