Theft Under $5000

On June 2nd at 08:39am Police received a call from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue reporting a female had stolen cosmetics and sushi and fled in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue ad conducted a traffic stop. A 31-year-old female was arrested. She was also found to have a knife with a brass knuckles type of grip in her possession. She was later released for court on August 24th, 2024.

Fail to Comply with a Release Order

On June 2nd at 09:08 am Police received a call from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue reporting a male that had been banned was outside the front door yelling at customers. A 32-year-old intoxicated male was arrested. He was held for court on June 3rd, 2024.

Break and Enter

On June 2nd at 2:35 pm An employee from a business in the 1400 block of Rosser Avenue East reported someone had entered their store overnight. The suspect (s) entered through a side door and rummaged through the clothing section of the business. The suspect may have been scared off as they left all the clothing items they had collected behind. No damage was observed, and no items were reported stolen.

Assault by Choking

On June 2nd at 05:58 am Police received a call from a resident in the 900 block of Breacrest. A 33-year-old male reported being awoken to someone trying to get into his apartment. He confronted the male and told him to leave but the male lunged at him and choked him. A brief struggle ensued, and the suspect took off. Police were able to identify the accused and find him in another apartment. A 25-year-old male was arrested for assault. It turns out he thought he was going into his own apartment earlier. He will appear in court on August 15th, 2024.

Breach of Peace

On June 2nd, 2024, at 6:15 pm Police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 500 block of Breacrest Drive. An intoxicated 41-year-old female was arrested as she was found to be the cause of the issues. She will be released in the morning.

Mischief Under $5000 and Assault

On June 2nd at 9:15 pm Police were called to a disturbance on Alaska bay. Two females had thrown a beer can at a house and broken a window. The females then threw a beer can at the homeowner striking him in the head. An intoxicated 18-year-old female and an intoxicated 20-year-old female were arrested for Assault and Mischief. They were both on court orders not to consume alcohol. They were held for court on June 3rd, 2024.

Breach of Release Order and Assault with a Weapon

On June 2nd at 9:53 pm Police were called to a business in the 000 of 10th street. It was reported that a male and female were purchasing beer at the vendor. The male asked the female to pay for the beer and then she stabbed him with a knife. They both left the business. Officers located the pair a short distance away. The 32-year-old male refused to cooperate with police and stated he was not injured. No serious injuries observed. The 24-year-old female was arrested as she was on an order not attend to the business. She will be later released for court on August 1st, 2024.

Impaired Driver

On June 2nd at 11:46 pm Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle swerving in the 100 block of 1st street. A 42-year-old male failed the roadside screening device and was issued an immediate roadside prohibition. His vehicle was seized for 30 days.

Possession of Dangerous weapon

On June 3rd at 01:21 am Police conducted a pedestrian check in the 1300 block of Park Avenue. A 35-year-old male was arrested as he was breaching his court ordered curfew. He was found to be in possession of Bear spray, a knife and a small quantity of meth. He was held for court on June 3rd, 2024.

Breach of Peace

On June 3rd at 01:20 am Police received a call to business in the 1100 block of 18 street. The employee reported a female laying on the lobby floor and blocking the entrance. An intoxicated 25-year-old female was arrested and will be released in the morning.

Robbery with Firearm

On June 3rd at 02:21 am Officers were dealing with an unrelated call in the 500 block of Lorne Avenue when a 32-year-old male approached them reported he was robbed. The male stated he was walking down the street when a male approached him with what he believed to be a gun and demanded his cell phone. The suspect then took off with the cell phone. Police attempted a K-9 track but were unsuccessful due to so much foot traffic in the area. This matter is still under investigation.

Arson

On June 3rd at 02:16 am Police were called to a dumpster fire behind a residence in the 200 block of 5th street. The fire spread and two vehicles were damaged but thankfully the fire was extinguished before a home was lost.

At 03:12 am Police were then advised of a dumpster fire behind a business in the 800 block of 18th street north. A black car was observed speeding through the parking lot around the time of the fire. Both fires appear suspicious, and officers continue to investigate. Police are requesting anyone with video surveillance in either area to please check to see if they caught anything suspicious.
