Busy start to the week for Brandon Police: Arrests, assaults, and fire response

Arrest Warrant On September 9th at 11:50AM a BPS (Brandon Police Service) officer noticed a female in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue known to have a Warrant for her Arrest. She was stopped, arrested, and held in BPS detention cells for court. Breach of the Peace / IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act) In the last 24 hours three individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and one for IPDA. The individuals were arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will be released once sober. Mischief Under $5000 On September 8th at approximately 5:23 PM, police received a report of a male spray painting a bicycle black on the Thompson Bridge. Upon arrival, officers located a 31-year-old male in possession of a bicycle that was still wet with paint. The bicycle was seized, and the individual was arrested and transported to BPS detention cells. He was later released via Undertaking with a scheduled court appearance set for November 3rd, 2025. Breach of Release Order / Breach of Probation On September 8th at approximately 4:45 PM, a 31-year-old male was arrested for breaching his No Contact Order by sending an email to a female he was legally prohibited from contacting. The individual was located at a residence in the 400 block of 9th Street and taken into custody. He was held in BPS detention cells and is scheduled to appear in court the following morning. Theft Under $5000 On September 8th at 9:07PM police attended a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue due to a theft. A 32-year-old male was arrested for Theft Under $5000. He was later released via Undertaking with a court date of November 17th, 2025. Theft Under $5000 On September 8th at 9:07PM police were called to a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue as items were currently being concealed in a bag in a shopping cart. Police attended and made a stop outside the store to find that $158.07 worth of unpaid merchandise had been taken. A 32-year-old female was arrested and later released via Undertaking with a court date of November 17th, 2025. September 08, 2025 Police Media Releases Fire at Hospital On September 7th at approximately 12:53 PM, hospital security reported a fire outside the Emergency Room at the corner of the ramp. Smoke and flames extended to the HVAC system. Brandon Fire & Emergency Services responded promptly and successfully contained the fire. At this time, the fire is considered non-suspicious. IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act) On September 7th at approximately 6:31 PM, police responded to a report of a highly intoxicated male who was unable to stand. Officers attended the scene and located the individual lying on the ground in the 2600 block of McDonald Avenue. Due to his level of intoxication, he was not welcome at his residence. The male was transported to BPS detention cells and will be released once sober. Assault Causing Bodily Harm On September 7th at approximately 7:02 PM, police responded to a report of an assault that had occurred in a hotel room in the 3500 block of Victoria Avenue. A 20-year-old female was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, a 26-year-old male. During the assault, the victim sustained an injury to her upper lip that required stitches. The suspect was located on scene, arrested, and charged in relation to the incident. He was held in BPS detention cells and is scheduled to appear in court the morning of September 8th, 2025. Assault On September 7th at 8:39PM police were called to the 1200 block of Rosser Avenue due to a reported Assault. A 24-year-old female was walking home from a bar, and she allegedly didn’t stop at the request of her ex-boyfriend, who then grabbed her by the hair and smacked her in the face. The 30-year-old male was arrested and later released with conditions via Undertaking. A court date of November 3rd, 2025 has been set. Failure to Comply – Undertaking On September 8th at 12:04PM a traffic stop was initiated in the 3400 block of Patricia Avenue. The 57-year-old male driver was found to be breaching his Undertaking curfew condition of 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM. He was arrested and released on the scene on an Appearance Notice with a court date of November 13th, 2025.
