Tuukka Rask made 34 saves as the Boston Bruins defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 Monday night at MTS Centre.

The home team went 0-for-5 on the power play as Rask stopped all 13 shots he faced.

David Pasternak scored the game winner with 58 seconds remaining in the middle period as his shot deflected off Winnipeg defenseman Toby Enstrom and past Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck.

"Well, it was kind of the exact opposite of the last couple games, not a whole lot of time in the O-zone but we were capitalizing on our chances," said Jets captain Blake Wheeler who scored on a breakaway midway through the first period to give Winnipeg a 1-0 lead. "Didn’t get the bounce that we needed at the right time. We were pretty in control of that game until they scored there at the end of the second period. It felt like we spent a lot of time in the box in that 3rd period and we could just never get into a rhythm to tie it up."

The Bruins got the equalizer from Dominic Moore just 19 seconds after Wheeler's goal.

Boston defenseman Brandon Carlo potted his first NHL goal with 1:59 remaining in the third period to extend the Bruins lead to 3-1 and Zdeno Chara sealed the deal finding the empty net with 49.1 seconds left.

The Jets next game is Wednesday at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
