The Southwest Cougars are heading into the Christmas break with a win. Gage Murray stopped 15 shots as Southwest shutdown the Pembina Valley Hawks 5-0 in Morden. Laughlin McKinnon, Hudson Morrison, Jesse Bernard, Ben Williams and Sutton Olson did the goal scoring for the Cougars who snapped a two-game losing streak. Southwest is in first place in the Manitoba "AAA" Midget Hockey League's West Division with a 20-7-0-2 record. The Cougars are four points ahead of the second place Brandon Wheat Kings. Southwest's next game is Sunday, January 2nd against the Parkland Rangers in Dauphin.
