Samaritan House Ministries has a number of events surrounding the Christmas Season coming up, starting with a special presentation of caroling by the Christians of the Gospel Faith Youth Group this coming Saturday evening.

“They want to bring awareness to what Samaritan House does in the community and not only that, but they wanted to give the community an opportunity to come and listen to some youth singing carols of Christmas,” shares Samaritan House Executive Director, Barbara McNish.

The concert will be held at the Samaritan House Ministries parking lot on Pacific Avenue in downtown Brandon this Saturday evening from 6:30-7:30 pm (December 11) with the video of the 1-hour concert being shared at a later date on the Samaritan House Facebook page.

“It will be on Facebook, but do come on down and enjoy the concert live,” shares McNish.

“We’re just so grateful for the amount of people who are fundraisers.  We’ve got food drives happening from many agencies, and we’re posting them on Facebook. Whenever they come in, we’re doing a shout out!  So, if you look at our Facebook page, you’ll see all the wonderful donors that are stepping up through food drives or cash donations or bringing socks to the shelter!”

“There are so many ways that people have been sharing with us,” she adds.

“As you all know, December is a busy month and sometimes in January, February and March it trickles off, but we’re still giving out food hampers in January, February and March.”

McNish says the following weekend, December 18th, will be the annual Christmas Holiday Train and Drive through donation drop-off.  Again, the Holiday Train will be shared virtually which will be the same as last year.

“We’re just excited, but that’s not to negate all the different agencies, schools and organizations that are doing their own food drives within their own businesses and schools.  They are bringing those donations down to us on a regular basis.”

“So, a big shout out to all our donors whether they bring cash or food,” shares McNish. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we wish you a very, Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!”
