Lighthouse Christian earns international model school status
Lighthouse Christian School in Southport, just south of Portage la Prairie, has once again been awarded international model school status by Accelerated Christian Education (ACE). “This model status gives our school recognition internationally amongst the private schools of ACE, and we are required to maintain a level of academics and structure and procedures within our school,” notes Alfred MacLaren, administrator principal of Lighthouse Christian School and manager for Accelerated Christian Education Canada. “This status is given out annually and we are required to complete an extensive assessment, we are visited by an international representative from ACE, and we must meet the criteria in order to attain this model status,” says MacLaren. The school received its digital acknowledgement this week, with a formal certificate plaque expected to arrive in the coming weeks. A tradition of excellence Lighthouse Christian has maintained the model school status for roughly 15 years. “Our vice principal and head supervisor for our school is Mrs. Iris Blume, and she works tirelessly to achieve this status within our school,” adds MacLaren. He says the recognition is a meaningful way to highlight the contributions of the staff. “The staff is always excited to receive this accreditation from ACE as it really proves the wonderful job that each of them is doing within our school structure,” continues MacLaren.
